* American Blackout (2013)
What if the Doomsday Preppers were right all along? Hacking into urban infrastructures isn't science fiction anymore it's in the news every day. In this docudrama, National Geographic asks the question: When the lights go out, what do we do next? American Blackout imagines a nationwide power failure in the United States caused by a cyberattack told in real time, over 10 days, by those who kept recording using cameras and phones. Gritty, visceral and totally immersive, you'll learn what it means to be absolutely powerless. What would it take to survive from day one, and who would be left standing when the lights come back on?

* Blood and Oil - The Middle East in World War I (2006)
"Blood and Oil - The Middle East in World War I" examines the devastating conflict and Western political intrigue that laid the foundation for wars, coups, revolts and military interventions in the Middle East. After the end of World War I, most of the Ottoman Empire was carved up into "spheres of influence," controlled mostly by the British and French. The remaining territories became the modern state of Turkey in 1923 - after a five-year struggle by Turkish nationalists against Western domination. Written and produced by Marty Callaghan ("Archives of War," "Remember Pearl Harbor: America Taken by Surprise"), this feature-length documentary film follows conflict from the Ottoman Empire's entry into the Great War in October 1914 to the Allied victory and declaration of the new Turkish Republic in 1923, and the hostilities that have plagued the region since.

* Do the Math (2013)
The fossil fuel industry is killing us. They have five times the amount of coal, gas and oil that is safe to burn - and they are planning on burning it all. Left to their own devices, they'll push us past the brink of cataclysmic disaster - life as we know it will be irrevocably altered forever. Unless we rise up and fight back. DO THE MATH chronicles "America's leading environmentalist" Bill McKibben in a David-vs-Goliath battle to fight the fossil fuel industry and change the terrifying math of the climate crisis. Bill McKibben is going after Big Oil, Big Coal, and Big Gas directly - energizing a movement like the ones that overturned the great immoral institutions of the past century - such as Apartheid in South Africa. Putting his body on the line to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline and leading universities and institutions to divest in the corporations destroying our livelihoods, McKibben is uniting the growing global majority that view the climate crisis as the most important moral issue of the day. The film also features a veritable who's who of the climate movement including Dr. James Hansen (Frmr. Director, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies), Naomi Klein (Author, The Shock Doctrine), Van Jones (CNN Correspondent & Author, The Green Collar Economy) Lester Brown (President, Earth Policy Institute), Michael Brune (Executive Director, Sierra Club), Bobby Kennedy Jr. (President, Waterkeeper Alliance) Majora Carter (Founder, Sustainable South Bronx), Phil Radford (Executive Director, Greenpeace), James Gustave Speth (Co-Founder of NRDC), among others.
* Can We Make a Star on Earth? (2009)
Professor Brian Cox takes a global journey in search of the energy source of the future. Called nuclear fusion, it is the process that fuels the sun and every other star in the universe. Yet despite over five decades of effort, scientists have been unable to get even a single watt of fusion electricity onto the grid.
Brian returns to Horizon to find out why. Granted extraordinary access to the biggest and most ambitious fusion experiments on the planet, Brian travels to the USA to see a high security fusion bomb testing facility in action and is given a tour of the world's most powerful laser. In South Korea, he clambers inside the reaction chamber of K-Star, the world's first super-cooled, super-conducting fusion reactor where the fate of future fusion research will be decided.
